About the Department & USPs

Welcome to our Lab department, where our dedicated team unravels the mysteries of health through advanced diagnostic techniques. Our team of expert pathologists possesses vast experience in diagnosing various medical conditions accurately. We embrace digital pathology for faster and more efficient diagnosis, benefitting patients. We provide timely and accurate reports, empowering healthcare decisions for better outcomes.

Technology has greatly impacted the field of pathology, transforming various aspects of laboratory testing, specimen analysis, and disease diagnosis. Here are some examples of technologies commonly used in pathology:

  • Whole Slide Imaging (WSI)
  • Image Analysis and Pattern Recognition
  • Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)
  • Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH)
  • Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)
  • Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF)
  • Liquid Chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS)
  • Comparative Genomic Hybridization (CGH) Arrays
  • Spectral Karyotyping (SKY)

Through pathology tests, diseases such as infections, cancer, blood disorders, diabetes, thyroid disorders, liver disease, kidney disease, and metabolic disorders can be diagnosed.

For some blood tests, fasting for 8 to 12 hours before the test is required, especially if blood sugar, cholesterol, or lipid tests are being conducted. Only water is taken during fasting. The doctor and the lab staff will inform the patient if fasting is necessary before the blood test.

The time taken to receive the lab reports may vary depending on the blood tests conducted. The lab staff will ensure the reports are accurate and available on time.

A biopsy is a blood test in which a small sample of body tissue is taken and examined under a microscope. This helps in the diagnosis of cancer, infection, and abnormalities in the body tissues and organs.
